Hairdresser in St Neots: home salon and home visits.

Come out to my home salon in Yelling, about ten minutes from the middle of town, or I bring the whole kit to your kitchen. Twenty years behind the chair, Vidal Sassoon trained, and St Neots is my nearest town.

Your nearest hairdresser, two ways

In St Neots you get to choose.

Most people looking for a hairdresser in St Neots are choosing between salons. You have a slightly better choice than that. You can come to me, or I can come to you, and it is the same person with the same scissors and the same products either way. The home salon is in Yelling, a small village on the Cambridge side of St Neots, and the mobile service covers the whole town and every village around it.

My name is Biba. I have been doing hair for twenty years, I trained at Vidal Sassoon, and I worked at senior and director level in salons before I set up on my own. I loved the craft and I did not love the rush, so I built a way of working without it: one client at a time in a calm room at home, and a car full of kit for the people who would rather not go anywhere at all.

St Neots is the town that benefits most from that, simply because it is closest. A home visit to Eaton Socon or Eynesbury is a short hop rather than a planned expedition, so the smaller appointments that are hard to justify further out, a quick dry cut, a child's cut after school, a blow dry before a night out, are easy to fit in. And if you would rather have an hour out of the house, the salon is close enough that the drive is barely part of it.

Which one suits you

The home salon, or your own kitchen.

Come to the home salon

A dedicated salon room at home in Yelling with a proper salon chair, good light and the green wall with the HairBiba neon sign that turns up in most of my clients' photos. You are the only client in the room, the kettle is on, and there is free parking right outside.

There is no call-out charge because you are coming to me. It suits long colour appointments where you would like a couple of hours to yourself, men’s perms, and anybody who simply likes getting out of the house to have their hair done.

I come to you

The full kit comes in the car: professional dryer, straighteners and tongs, foils, lightener and toners, towels and gowns. Your hair is washed at your sink or over the bath, and I sweep up before I go.

It costs £10 on top of the service price. It suits parents of small children, people working from home who can take a call mid-appointment, older clients who would rather stay in their own chair, and groups who want several appointments in one house.

How it works

Four steps, and the first one is a choice.

  1. 01

    Salon or home visit

Both are on Fresha and they are listed separately. The salon version means you come out to Yelling. The Home Visit version is the one that sends me to your house and carries the call-out charge.

  2. 02

Your postcode, if I am coming

Put your address and postcode in the booking notes. On the newer estates a lot of the streets look alike, and a postcode gets me to the right door first time.

  3. 03

    Skin test before colour

First colour with me needs a skin test at least 48 hours beforehand. I can post it or drop it round, and in St Neots dropping it round is no trouble at all.

  4. 04

    Cut, colour, sweep up

The same appointment either way, with the same products. If I came to you, I tidy up after myself and you never had to find a parking space in town.

The postcode matters most on Loves Farm and Wintringham, where the streets are new, the houses are similar and parking tends to be allocated. Two lines in the booking notes, the postcode and where I can leave the car, save us both ten minutes on the day. In the older parts of town, around Eynesbury and the streets off the Market Square, on-street parking is the more usual question, and the same two lines answer it.

Where I go

St Neots, both sides of the river, and the villages round it.

  • St Neots town centre
  • Eaton Socon
  • Eaton Ford
  • Eynesbury
  • Loves Farm
  • Wintringham
  • Little Paxton
  • Great Paxton
  • Buckden
  • Diddington
  • Southoe
  • Abbotsley
  • Waresley
  • Toseland
  • Croxton
  • Great Gransden

The Great Ouse splits the town. Eaton Socon and Eaton Ford sit on the west bank, and the town centre, Eynesbury, Loves Farm and Wintringham are on the east. Coming from Yelling, the east side is the nearest. Toseland and Croxton are practically neighbours, Great Paxton is around ten minutes away, Little Paxton around fifteen, and Eaton Socon and Buckden around twenty.

North of town, Diddington and Southoe lead up towards Buckden and the A1. South and east, Abbotsley, Waresley and Great Gransden are all on the quiet roads close to home. If you are further up towards Huntingdon there is a page on home visits in Huntingdon and Godmanchester, and the A428 side towards Cambourne has its own page too. The rule everywhere is anywhere within roughly a 30 to 40 minute drive from Yelling.

What I do

The full list, wherever you have it done.

Nothing on the services list is salon only. Ladies', men's and children's cuts, blow dries, up-dos and special occasion hair. Half, three-quarter and full head foils, balayage, toners and colour refreshes. Brazilian blow dries, Olaplex and the Wella and Moroccanoil mask treatments. Men's perms and flow cuts. Brows, lashes, waxing and facials, which plenty of people add to a hair appointment so it is all done in one sitting.

I have worked with every hair type, including Afro-Caribbean and Asian hair, and there is a page on Afro and textured hair if you have spent years explaining your hair to people who did not get it.

The honest difference between the two versions is the plumbing. In the home salon your hair is washed and rinsed in the salon room. On a home visit it happens at your kitchen sink or over the bath, because I do not carry a portable backwash. It works perfectly well, and I would rather you knew before I arrived than found out when I walked in.

Timings are the same in both places. A wash, cut and blow dry is about an hour. Foils take two to three hours depending on how much hair you have. A men's perm, cut and permed together, is around two hours. I will give you an honest figure when you book, not a hopeful one, so you can plan the school run around it.

If you have not had colour with me before you will need a skin test at least 48 hours before the appointment, whichever version you book. It takes about a minute, I can post it or drop it round, and colour does not go ahead without it.

Who books what

Busy weeks get a home visit. Quiet ones get the salon.

St Neots has grown a great deal, and a lot of that growth is young families on the new estates. For them a home visit is often the only version that works: an hour at the kitchen table while the baby naps is achievable, and a trip anywhere with a pushchair is not. Children's cuts go better at home too, with their own toys on the floor and nobody watching.

Then there are the people who commute out on the London trains and get home with no appetite for another journey. An evening appointment at home, or a Saturday morning in the salon, suits them. And there are older clients in the town and the villages who have stopped driving or find a salon chair hard going. That is a large part of why I do this at all, and there is a page on home visits for older and housebound clients if that is who you are booking for.

If you are new to the idea, I have written about why clients switch to a mobile hairdresser, which starts with the six minutes spent hunting for a parking space in St Neots on a Saturday, and about what a mobile hairdresser actually costs.

The welcome

What it feels like, in clients' words.

  • We visited Biba today so my 15 year old son could get a loose perm after seeing Biba's amazing TikTok video! Biba was so kind and welcoming, made a beautiful cup of tea and we had a great chat! Most importantly the perm...it's amazing! My son is over the moon! Thank you Biba, you are wonderful! X

    Rosie M · Perm · Fresha, September 2026

  • Incredibly patient and so lovely to my three year old who is a real handful during haircuts. Cannot speak highly enough of the welcome and friendliness and to get a good cut done on a tricky customer!

    James E · Children's haircut · Fresha, June 2026

  • I had a great experience, I decided I wanted a fringe with some layers in a new style to what I previously had. The atmosphere was relaxing and I felt at ease and in good hands the whole time. My end style was lovely and I was really happy with it.

Hannah Cook · Cut & Style · Google, April 2026

Reviews are not tagged by town, so I will not pretend these are all St Neots clients. They are about the part people mention most after the hair itself, which is how the appointment felt. Every review, from Google, Facebook and Fresha, is on the reviews page.

Coming to Yelling

Ten minutes away, and a parking space waiting.

The home salon is at 10 High Street, Yelling, PE19 6SD. From St Neots you head out on the Cambridge side of town towards the A428, and Yelling is a few minutes beyond it. There is free parking right outside, which after a Saturday in town is usually the bit people remember. The pin on Google is not quite on the house. If you end up at the wrong door, give me a ring and I will talk you in.

It is a dedicated room rather than a corner of the kitchen, with a proper chair, good light and nobody else waiting. You can read how I ended up here if you would like to know who is doing your hair before you book. Both the salon and home visit versions of every service are on Fresha, side by side, so you can see what each costs.

The wider picture of the mobile service across Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire is on the mobile hairdressing page, and over the river towards St Ives there is a page on home visits in St Ives and the Hemingfords. If something is not answered here, send me a message and I will reply myself between clients.

Questions

What St Neots clients ask first.

Should I come to the home salon or have you come to me?

Whichever suits your week. The home salon in Yelling has a proper salon chair, good light and free parking outside, and there is no call-out charge because you are coming to me. A home visit costs £10 on top of the service price and saves you the drive, which is worth it with small children, a busy day or if getting out is hard. Plenty of St Neots clients do both, depending on the month.

How far is the home salon from St Neots?

About ten minutes from the middle of town on a normal day. The salon is at 10 High Street, Yelling, on the Cambridge side of St Neots and just off the A428, so the east of town is the nearest. The pin on Google is not quite on the house. If you end up at the wrong door, give me a ring and I will talk you in.

Which parts of St Neots do you come out to?

All of it, on both sides of the river, and the villages around it: Eaton Socon, Eaton Ford, Eynesbury, Loves Farm, Wintringham, Little Paxton, Great Paxton, Buckden, Diddington, Southoe, Abbotsley, Waresley, Toseland, Croxton and Great Gransden. Anywhere within roughly a 30 to 40 minute drive from Yelling is inside the usual area.

Is there a call-out charge in St Neots?

Yes, £10 on top of the service price, the same as everywhere else I cover. It is already built into the Home Visit version of the service on Fresha, so there is nothing to pay on the day. Being close to Yelling does not make it cheaper and being in a village does not make it dearer.

Do you cut children's hair at home?

Yes, and home is usually the better place for it. A child who will not sit still in a salon chair is often fine on a kitchen stool with the television on. If you would like a parent's cut and the children's cuts done in one visit, book them back to back and mention it in the notes so I allow enough time.

I am on Loves Farm or Wintringham. Where do you park?

Wherever is easiest for you. On the newer estates parking is often allocated, so if you have a spare space, a visitor bay nearby or room on the drive, tell me in the booking notes. If there is genuinely nothing, say so and we will pick a time of day when the street is quieter.

Where do you wash my hair on a home visit?

At your kitchen sink or over the bath. I do not carry a portable backwash or a hydraulic chair. I bring the towels, the gown and everything else, and I need a chair near a plug socket and a little floor space.

Can I book in the evening or on a Saturday?

Yes. Evenings and Saturdays are part of my normal week, both in the home salon and on home visits. They are the slots that go first, so if you know you want one, book the next appointment before you leave.

How much does it cost?

Prices depend on your hair length, its thickness and how long the appointment takes, so they live on Fresha where they stay up to date. The salon and home visit versions of each service are listed side by side there, so you can compare them before you book.

Book in St Neots, salon or sofa.

On Fresha, choose the salon version to come to Yelling or the Home Visit version for me to come to you, and add your postcode in the notes. I will confirm the same day.
