How it works

Four steps, no faff.

  1. 01

    Pick the home visit

On Fresha, choose the Home Visit version of the service, not the salon one. Then add your address in the notes along with anything I should know about your hair.

  2. 02

    I bring the kit

Dryer, straighteners and tongs, colour and foils, towels and gowns. You need a plug socket, a chair and a sink I can rinse at.

  3. 03

    Consultation first

Ten minutes talking about what you want and what your hair will do before a drop of colour goes anywhere.

  4. 04

    Done, tidied, gone

I clear up after myself, book you in for next time if you like, and you never left the house.

Where I go

Two counties, from Yelling out.

  • St Neots
  • Huntingdon
  • St Ives
  • Cambourne
  • Papworth Everard
  • Godmanchester
  • Buckden
  • Eaton Socon
  • Cambridge
  • Bedford
  • Sandy
  • Biggleswade

Those are the regular ones. The rule is simply anywhere within roughly a 30 to 40 minute drive from Yelling. Somewhere else? Ask, because colour appointments and group bookings are worth the extra miles.

Everything on the services list travels, including foils, balayage and keratin. Prefer to come to me? The home salon in Yelling is five minutes off the A428. Read the reviews or get in touch if you have a question first.

What travels

Everything a salon has, in the boot of the car.

Everything except the water comes with me: a professional dryer, straighteners and tongs, the full colour kit including foils, lightener and toners, sectioning clips, towels, gowns and a dustpan, and the same Wella, Moroccanoil and Olaplex products I use in the home salon in Yelling. Nothing gets downgraded because the appointment is at your house.

That means the whole services list travels. Half, three-quarter and full head foils, balayage, toners and colour refreshes. Keratin and smoothing treatments. Olaplex and mask treatments. Cuts for the whole family, men’s perms and flow cuts, occasion hair and up-dos. Brows, lashes, waxing and facials, which a lot of clients add to the same visit so they only have to be at home once.

From you I need a chair, a plug socket, a bit of floor space and a sink or shower I can rinse at. The kitchen is usually easiest, and a utility room or a bathroom works just as well. I sweep up before I leave.

Two practical things when you book. Choose the Home Visit version of the service on Fresha rather than the salon one, because they are listed separately and the home visit is what tells me to come to you. And there is a £10 call-out charge on top of the service price, which covers the travel anywhere inside the usual area.

Appointments run to the same times they would in a salon: about an hour for a wash, cut and blow dry, two to three hours for foils depending on how much hair you have. I give you an honest time when you book so you can plan the rest of the day. Evening and weekend slots are a normal part of the week rather than a favour, and they go first, so it is worth booking the next one before I leave.

If you are weighing it up against a salon, I have written about why clients make the switch and exactly what happens during a first home visit. You can also read the reviews or ask me anything first.

Questions

Things people ask before their first home visit.

Where do you travel to?

The home salon is in Yelling, and I cover Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire: St Neots, Huntingdon, St Ives, Cambourne, Papworth Everard, Godmanchester, Buckden, Eaton Socon, Cambridge, Bedford, Sandy and Biggleswade, and anywhere else within roughly a 30 to 40 minute drive from Yelling. If you are a little further out, ask; I can usually make it work for colour or group bookings.

How do I book a home visit?

On Fresha, pick the Home Visit version of the service rather than the salon one. They are listed separately, and choosing the home visit is what tells me to come to you and adds the call-out charge. Then put your address in the booking notes.

Is there a call-out charge?

Yes, £10 on top of the price of the service, and it is included when you book the home visit version on Fresha. That covers the travel anywhere inside the usual area. If you are further out than roughly a 30 to 40 minute drive from Yelling I will tell you before you book rather than after.

Can you do colour at home?

Yes. Foils, balayage, toners and colour refreshes all travel. You will need a skin test 48 hours before your first colour with me, which I can post or drop round.

Do you do group bookings?

Weddings, proms, birthdays and mother-and-daughter appointments are some of my favourites. Message me with numbers and a date.

What do I need to have ready?

A chair near a plug socket, a couple of towels, and a sink or shower I can rinse at. The kitchen sink is usually easiest. I bring everything else.
